ArtFire
So I decided to shop a bit on ArtFire today. I must say, it’s not meant for dummies, and I’m not convinced it’s meant for non-dummies either. I don’t usually consider myself in the former category, but I sure felt like it today. Several hours later and I see that what I SAW…
… was a catastrophe.
Needless to say, I did not shop on ArtFire today.
Which reminds me, I still need to check into that Made It Myself website.
But before that, I was accepted at Native Motif so I need to get on with getting sorted out over there.
Gabe
Did I already show you this picture?
If so, forgive me. I’ve decided it’s easier to show and tell items more than once and risk boring or annoying my readers rather than spending a large amount of time trying to figure out if I’ve already shown or told something.
Anyway, that’s Gabe and his birthday present and my lovey boy, Ten.
Grammar
Today’s lesson: Among versus Between
Which is correct: "among" or "between"?(Definitions)
Some sticklers insist that, where division is involved, among should be used where three or more are concerned, between where only two are concerned. (So The plum jobs were shared among the Socialists, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats, while the president and the vice-president divided the cash between themselves. ) This distinction is unnecessary. But take care with between. To fall between two stools, however painful, is grammatically acceptable; to fall between the cracks is to challenge the laws of physics. Slip Knots
Oh, here’s a good YouTube video about making slip knots in jewelry.
Sea Monsters
These totally creepy creatures are real and currently exist. It’s funny the stuff we don’t know, rarely see, never even imagined.
Here’s another one.
Cats
Anyone heard of this organization? Project Purr
Okay, time to go… cheers!
Don't forget about project: Going Green Jewelry

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your recent shopping experience at Artfire wasn't up to par. There may have been some issues with browser compatibility (It looks like you were using IE6). These issues should be corrected and the pages should render correctly in IE6.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this caused you and hope you'll be back to visit soon,

I suppose the irony is that artfire boasts its rapidcart checkout ... blech
ReplyDeleteI have an artfire... but not using it at the moment
love love love the pic of gabe, git and gato
as far as grammar goes ... keep it .. I have given up proper typing, punctuation, and grammar for Lent... uh PERMANENT lent... take me as I am ... I type like I talk... one great big run on sentence... old age gives me this entitlement ( I said so)
I guess I will bop over to Made It Myself, also and take a gander
I am personally glad you are back from your globetrotting and posting more ... see I got all spoiled when ya had the Ebay discussion group.... you are someone I appreciate as a fellow artist in this crazy web world... so (by the way) thank you!
I am back
ReplyDeleteMade It Myself does not impress me
clicked on a featured seller of jewelry.. top price was 30 dollars
then I listed jewelry highest to lowest ... nothing at the top run looked either original, smithed, or cool
... and I have a real pet peeve ... the way they structure the price .. they post a higher price and then the "real" or "sale" price ... such a contrivance fools no one and diminishes the perceived worth of all the pieces.
