First Reveal of Lori Anderson's 7th Bead Soup Blog Party

Today is the big reveal of the first round of players in Lori Anderson’s Bead Soup Blog Party. The basic idea is that jewelry artists are paired up randomly and exchange beads with one another (a focal, some coordinating beads, and a clasp).

I was paired with Molly Alexander. Yay! Here are the beads I received from Molly.



Yep, two sets!

Here is the necklace I made with the blue lampwork beads made by Kaz Baildon (and the clasp that was enclosed with the poppy beads).

    Lots of work in this piece. Very regal looking. Seriously, it looks like you could also wear this one "backwards" as I've seen with some of the recent trends.

    Both of your necklaces are beautiful. The red Tanya McGuire bead necklace is a real show stopper. I love her beads and always buy from her at the Twin Cities Bead Bazaar.

    Both of your creations are wonderfully unique and eye-catching. The chain maille on the first necklace is much more delicate and lacy than other designs I've seen before. I really like that. But the second necklace is the one that intrigues me the most. What did you make that with? Is it polymer clay? Wire? Metal Clay? I'm completely enamored with those tendrils. Amazing!

    Thank you everyone. CraftyHope, the tendrils are bronze, made using metal clay techniques. The poppies are lampwork (glass) beads. Thank you for the kind words.
